So this really has nothing to do with our wedding, other than to let you know that we've been dating for 9 years this week. So to celebrate we went to Morimoto in Philadelphia Saturday night. Those of you who watch Iron Chef know what I'm talking about!! Totally worth the two month wait for a reservation. I ordered the ishi yaki 'buri bop' - king yellowtail prepared tableside on hot river stones. Amazing. It comes out raw, like sashimi, on a bed of rice, and the bowl it's served in is carved out of a river rock and it's hot as heck and the server moves the yellowtail so it's up against the walls of the bowl where it cooks on the hot river rock while she prepares the rice with vegetables and something spicy that I can't pronouce or spell. We also tried one of the chef's speciality sake's - junmai ginjo morimoto, served chilled. I am sold on sake - we might have to break out the sake set Sue got me for my birthday next time we get take out sushi!
