 Derik previews the ACC tournament today...
- Duke: Seriously, I want to kick JJ Redick in the nuts…Lee Melchionni too…while I’m at it Dick Vitale as well…
- North Carolina: Nothing bad to say here, love Roy Williams, love Tyler Hansbrough, love that they beat Duke in Cameron on Senior Night.
- Boston College: The upset pick of the tournament…also the place I fell asleep in a garbage can after a night of “merriment.”
- NC State: Did Julius Hodge actually graduate?!?!
- Florida St: Where are the FSU Football cowgirls?!?!
- Maryland: "Proved" their dominance by sweeping Virginia and going 1-6 against the top 25, while also achieving impressive wins against a field including Chaminade, Nicholls St., American, VMI and Western Carolina…if this is a bubble team, then my left testicle is the leading candidate for Massachusetts govenor.
- Virginia: Let’s just look forward to the new basketball arena.
- Miami: You would think this place would be full of hot Latinas, but surprisingly, it’s just a lot of white and black people…
- Clemson: I’d rather be a Gamecock than a Tiger…
- Virginia Tech: This team had the chance to expose the Blue Devils for the frauds they are back in December, and they messed that up...typical Tech.
- Georgia Tech: 2-12 in their last 14 games, don’t let the record fool you, this is the worst team in the ACC.
- Wake Forest: Can someone please tell me how this place is called Wake Forest, what kind of name is Wake Forest for a university?!!?
Final Game: UNC wins the rubber game over Duke.

I'll handle the upset picks today: Wake over FSU & Georgia Tech over the Twerps. BTW, I believe that Wake Forest's name has something to do with waking up naked in a forest, which is what those students tend to do.
Here's how it's going to break down:
Today:
Clemson over Miami: Miami has the better team, but they've given up on the season, with their only win in the last 7 games coming at home against the Hokies. Meanwhile, Clemson hasn't played a bad game since mid-January.
FSU over Wake: Hamilton has the 'Noles peaking at exactly the right time, and Wake is coached by a Pete Gillen protege. This one will be ugly.
Virginia over Virginia Tech: This game scares the crap out of me, but J.R. Reynolds is hot, hot, hot right now and always plays well in the Toonamint.
Bees over Turtles: Paul Hewitt has more talent than anybody outside of the Research Triangle. Maryland's team is likely to crack under pressure.
Quarterfinals:
Duke over Clemson: I'll take "Games I Don't Mind Missing Because of Work" for $200, Alex.
State over State: Best game of the Tournament. I like State to pull it out at the buzzer.
Eunice over Virginia: 'Hoos sit at 15-14 heading into the NIT, and I get to see the actual last game at U-Hall after having to watch the Maryland game from a hotel bar in Houston. Carolina is un-friggin'-stoppable.
GT over BC: BC is HORRIBLE. They still play like a plodding Big East team. Hewitt's teams always perform well in tournament situations. Jackets by 15.
Semifinal Saturday:
State over Duke: 20,000 fans from 11 schools have one last beautiful chance to shower JJ Redick with all the hate he deserves. State is bouyed by the collective good will and beats the Devils by 8 points.
UNC over GT: Again, un-friggin'-stoppable.
Finals:
UNC over State: I want to hate Carolina. I really, really do. Why the hell are Roy Williams and Tyler Hansbrough making that so friggin' hard to do?
Vince you only got one game correct out of four, but you got the right one right.
This is why I don't gamble on sports.
