I hate to make such a sour prognostication, but the Yankees will get swept in Boston this weekend and all hell will break loose in the greater New York area. Eight and a half back with 68 games to play sounds a whole lot safer than five and a half back with 65 to play. Simply put, the Yankees are playing much better than they should be (thank you, Tom Gordon and Gary Sheffield) and the Red Sox are playing way below their potential (thank you, Derek Lowe and Terry Francona). I have never wanted to be wrong as much as I do right now. Go Yanks!
